Our Under 8’s are a fantastic group which go beyond just being team mates, but also being a great group of friends too. We compete in the Capital Girls League having competed against all older teams in their inaugural season last year, demonstrating they are more than competitive with their football ability.
Throughout the season, the girls learn the fundamentals of the game and essential techniques which serve as the foundations as they get older. This is achieved through training following a created specialised, age appropriate curriculum which teaches a variety of on the ball and off the ball techniques used in every match, effective communication skills and developing a basic understanding of the game such as decision making and evaluating their own performances. Furthermore, the girls receive equal opportunity to play every position on the pitch, equal game time in every match as well as the opportunity to captain the team on match days.
Training takes place every Tuesday and fortnightly matches on Saturday mornings with a second training session on those Saturday’s when there is not a match.
